Lightweight Backpacking Gear
There's a number of things I do to keep my pack weight down, from strategically selecting what type of food I bring to bringing less stuff overall (just like in day-to-day life, we tend to carry way too many things that get used way too little).
Beyond the systems and heuristics, there are a handful of core items I use that are lightweight, simple, and flexible. I've spent a couple years honing in on my current setup, through a good deal of trial and error and returns to REI.
These particular items have remained stable in my go-to pack for over a year now without much change, and they've afforded me a good deal of flexibility in both weight-savings and functionality across seasons. 👍
